Guide for BAND

How to run a photo contest in a BAND group

Many school and sports groups run on BAND, and BAND has polls for text answers. When the options are photos, like costumes, team pictures or jersey designs, a PicJury link shows them side by side and gives everyone one vote. One youth soccer league ran its Halloween costume contest this way and got 7,611 votes in four days, most of them from parents passing the link around their group chats.

Make the vote

Steps

  1. Make the vote

On picjury.app, add 2 to 6 photos, one per team, costume or entry, and give each a short name. Nobody needs an account, you included. Pick how long voting stays open (three days is the default), so families know the deadline.

  2. Post it in your BAND group

Paste the poll link into a post in your group. Members tap it and vote in the browser, without leaving for another app or creating an account.

  3. Ask members to pass it on

Votes come mostly from people who share the link onward, so ask families to forward it to their own chats. Most votes arrive in the first day.

  4. Share the winner

When voting ends, the poll page offers a winner card: the winning photo with its share of the votes, ready to post. Families of the winning team usually post it themselves.

What BAND offers for votes

Use BAND's own poll for a quick text question, like which day works for practice. Use a photo vote when people need to see the options to choose.

Questions

Why not just use a BAND poll?

For text answers it is the simplest choice. For photos, people need to see every option at the same size, which a photo vote is built for.

Can I see who voted?

No. Votes are private; you see the totals. That keeps a contest between families friendly.

Is it free?

Yes. PicJury is free, with no ads and no paid plan.
