How to let friends vote on photos, five ways compared
All five work. They differ in whether the photos sit side by side, whether voters need an account, and whether friends see each other's answers before they pick, which tends to make them copy the first reply.
Side by side
| Tool | Best for | Price | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| PicJury | Comparing 2 to 6 photos side by side with anyone you send a link to | Free, no ads. No account for you or the voters | Photos only; at most 6 per poll |
| Instagram story poll | A quick vote among followers who already watch your stories | Free | Up to 4 text options on one story, live for 24 hours; voters need Instagram, and you see who voted for what |
| WhatsApp poll | A group that already chats on WhatsApp | Free | Up to 12 text options; the photos go as separate messages above the poll; only group members can vote |
| Google Forms | A longer survey where one question is about photos | Free | Several steps to put a photo in each option; one vote per person requires Google sign-in |
| Group chat replies | Two photos and three friends | Free | You count by hand, and later answers follow the first ones |
Facts about other tools checked in November 2026 on their own pages. Write to help@picjury.app if something changed.
Which one to pick
- The voters are your Instagram followers and a text choice is enough: an Instagram story poll.
- Everyone is already in one WhatsApp group: a WhatsApp poll with numbered photos.
- You want photos side by side, honest anonymous votes and people from different chats: PicJury.
- It is part of a longer survey: Google Forms.
When PicJury is not the right tool: PicJury is only for photos. For a text question in a chat everyone already uses, the chat's own poll is quicker.
Questions
How do I put a PicJury poll in my Instagram story?
Create the poll, copy its link and add it to the story with the link sticker. Followers open it and vote without signing up.
Why do anonymous votes matter for photos?
When friends know you see their choice, many pick what they think you want. In PicJury nobody, including you, sees who voted for which photo.
Can friends vote without an app or account?
In PicJury, yes: the link opens in any browser and one tap is a vote.
